多族裔民主大家庭 - 首届美国华人大会实况录像

来自不同省市和地区,讲着不同的方言, 不同时期来到美国,持有不同的政治观点,华裔美国人本身就是一个多重身份的大家庭。虽然美国社会不再是一黑一白两个种族的事实已经被公认,华裔美国人在争取政治话语权的问题上一直面临着很大的挑战,建立更广泛更多样化的族裔联盟变得越来越重要。 去年九月在美国首都华盛顿DC举办的首届华人大会上,非裔, 拉丁裔,犹太裔,华裔的民权及社区领袖共聚一堂, 在美国百人会会长吴华杨的主持下展开了一场精彩的对话。
讨论主要集中在两个话题: 为什么要建立多种族联盟以及如何建立这种联盟。嘉宾们分享了各自的观点, 并给出了切实可行的谋求少数族裔共同利益的建议。

Panelist: Hilary O. SHelton
Director of the NAACP ( National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), Washington Bureau/Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Policy
Panelist: Clarissa Martínez-De-Castro
Deputy Vice President at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), a national organization which advocates for Latinos in the areas of civic engagement, civil rights and immigration, education, workforce and the economy.
Pamelist: Hamilton Chang
CEO of Ball Parks of America and a governmental offical serving asTrustee of New Trier Township, was appointed by Governor Rauner as a state of Illinois Commissioner on the Illinois Human Rights Commission.
Panelist: Alan Ronkin
An accomplished advocate and Career Jewish Professional who has worked in Jewish Communal Institutions in Los Angeles, Cleveland, Seattle, Boston and Washington DC.

Distinguished Professor and former Dean, UC Hastings College of the Law
