“UCA is a national coalition that advocates and advances the welling being and interests of Chinese Americans through civic participation and community building. We embrace and celebrate Chinese American heritage, culture, identity and way of life. To celebrate the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger, UCA headquarter, local branches and community partners have specially arranged a number of festival activities across the nation. The talent show competition and the online Spring Festival Gala are the highlights of these activities. Other important initiatives include responding to the call of Congressman Grace Meng to promote the Lunar New Year as a federally recognized holiday and the establishment of the National Asia-Pacific Museum. We will continue to promote UCA’s Lunar New Year ‘Red Packet of Love’ charity campaign in various regions, support UCA Washington Branch’s parade in Seattle to commemorate the 136th Anniversary of the Seattle Riot in 1886, dumpling banquets in local communities and other Lunar New Year activities. We hope that more community organizations will join UCA and work with us for the well-being and interests of the Chinese community!” said UCA’s President, Haipei Shue.
