Pao-Hwa Lin

Pao-Hwa Lin has been a health behavior researcher at the Duke University Medical Center for over 30 years. Her research interest lies generally in the area of dietary patterns, health behaviors, and chronic diseases including hypertension, weight control and prostate cancer. She co-designed and tested the DASH dietary pattern which has been the national dietary guideline for hypertension control since 2003 and the dietary guideline for Americans since 2005. Most recently, she expanded her research into lifestyle, health behavior, and mental health, focusing on Asian communities. She is passionate about helping people to maximize their wholesome wellbeing through forming healthy lifestyle and mental habits.
