According to education advocates in Virginia, the state requires four years of civics education in high schools, which is by far the most credits required in the nation. This provides ample opportunities to promote Ethnic Studies and Asian American Studies in school curriculum through community advocacy, teacher professional development and other non-legislative approaches.
