Curriculum Advocacy – Ohio

Ohio State Senator Tina Maharath introduced Ohio Senate Bill 214 in the 134th General Assembly on August 5th, 2021. The bill requires instruction in Asian American history for grades K-12. The bill was referred to the Committee on Primary and Secondary Edcuation on September 8th, 2021. State Senator Maharath is the first Asian American woman to be elected to the Ohio Senate. She is of Laotian descent.
