Florida State Representative Anna Eskamani (D-Orlando) introduced House Bill 281 on October 13, 2021. The bill is titled “Required Instruction in the History of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders“. Currently there are a total of 19 House supporters of the bill, out of a total of 120 representatives. The bill was referred to the Secondary Education & Career Development Subcommittee on October 22, 2021. 

On the same day October 13, 2021, State Senator Linda Stewart (D-Orlando) introduced Senate Bill 490 with the same title. Currently there are a total of 7 senate supporters out of a total of 40 senators. The bill was referred to the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education on 1/18/2022.
