04/22/2020 Texas Education Agency (TEA) Approved African American Studies 

In Sept. 2018, TEA approved the state’s first Ethnic Studies course on Mexican Americans.

The State is expecting to approve similar courses for Latinos, Native Americans and Asian Americans.
