English Communications Manager (English Media)

Responsibilities:
This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours a week) to manage communications through the English language.
  1. Work with the President and Board to develop and execute communications strategies
  2. Prepare UCA’s marketing products for communications such writing Op-Ed and public statements
  3.  Maintain social media platforms
  4. Build a network of reporters for print and TV outlets for carrying out UCA’s messages
Qualifications
  1. Passionate about Chinese and Asian American communities and their causes
  2. Basic grasp of various national policy and political issues of the time; some knowledge about Chinese and Asian American communities and their issues
  3. Ability to work well with other team members and to multitask under pressure and sometimes tight schedules
  4. Self-motivating and initiative-taking while being flexible and creative in problem solving
  5. Strong English writing skills with experience in English social media communication and marketing
  6. Although not required, direct work experience with media, similar industries, or non-profit sectors a big plus
Knowledge and Skills
Microsoft 365 or similar applications; proficient experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms
